All Catholic elementary and secondary schools in Guelph, Erin, and Rockwood will be closed beginning tomorrow, Monday, November 7, 2022 due to ongoing CUPE labour disruptions. At the present time we do not know how long the disruptions will continue. Representatives from the Government of Ontario and CUPE met with the Ontario Labour Relations Board throughout the weekend and we await the outcome of their discussions.
Schools impacted by this job action will transition to on-line remote learning beginning tomorrow with asynchronous learning activities and information from classroom educators posted on their class D2L sites by 10:30 a.m. Schools will begin to transition to synchronous learning on Tuesday and for the duration of school closure, if required.
St. John Bosco and our four Catholic schools staffed with non-CUPE custodians in Fergus, Elora, Mount Forest and Arthur will remain open for in-person learning.
We will continue to provide updates to parents and our community when they are available.
Labour Updates can also be found on our Board Website at: https://www.wellingtoncdsb.ca/apps/pages/labour
